Hello Soapy Friends!

I'm Kimberly Bien and the maker/owner of Salted Sanctuary Soap.  I began making body products because of my personal allergies to preservatives and other harmful chemicals that my sensitive skin simply could not tolerate.  Over time, this grew into gifting products to family and friends and then requests for purchase.  In 2012, Salted Sanctuary Soap was formed and I began selling soap and body products at the Denton Community Market.

I use the “cold process” method to make soap.  Cold process is a made from scratch way to make soap by taking melted fats (for me, vegetable oils only like Almond Oil, Coconut Oil, Cocoa Butter and Shea Butter) and a lye solution containing water (or other liquid such as beer or herb enriched teas) are combined.  This combination results in a chemical reaction called saponification (the creation of soap).  We use organic and sustainable ingredients.  Animal fats and Palm Oils are never used.  Most soaps are scented organic essential oils.  If a fragrance oil is used, it is listed and is always paraben and phthalate free.  I am glad to create a custom bar or product for you to your specific needs.
